Ms. Pooja Kapur
Ambassador of India to Bulgaria and Macedonia
Ms. Pooja Kapur assumed charge as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia in July 2017. A seasoned diplomat, Ms. Kapur joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1996 and has previously served at Indian Missions in London, Paris, Brussels and Kuala Lumpur. At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, she has held charges pertaining to India’s relationship with Western Europe, South East Asia, the United Nations and the Commonwealth, most recently heading the ASEAN Multilateral Division.
Ms. Kapur was a Chevening scholar at the University of Oxford. She has a Masters in Public Administration from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration in Paris as well as the prestigious ENA diploma. She also has a B.A. (Hons.) and Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi.
A university topper and recipient of several scholarships and academic awards, Ms. Kapur is a published author, having co-authored her first book at the age of twenty.
